What Is The Largest Shark Ever Discovered

Jewels, gems, precious stones and symbols

Hands up who has never received or donated a jewel, a necklace, ring or other. Could not resist the beauty and rarity of jewels and precious stones. Ben knew and know the powerful of the earth. In particular, emperors, kings, princes, princesses, popes and cardinals, nobles and dignitaries. We are enchanted to Crown Jewels in London, Copenhagen and Vienna with the jewels of the Hapsburg (the famous portrait up here , Elizabeth of Austria and Hungary ', in Sissi century, with astri di diamanti  che tempestano la  sua lunghissima chioma) e nei paesi d'Europa in cui vigevano e sono tuttora in vigore le monarchie.
La pietra filosofale (in latino lapis philosophorum o "pietra dei filosofi") è, per eccellenza, the catalyst symbol of alchemy, capable of cleaning up the corruption of materia.pietra philosopher would be equipped with three extraordinary properties:

  • provide an elixir of life that can give immortality providing universal panacea for any disease;
  • to acquire the 'omniscience "or absolute knowledge of past and future, of good and evil (which would also explain the name" philosopher ")
  • confer the ability to transmute into gold base metals (property that has affected most popular greed

Here in Italy we have always had since the age of Commons, a strong tradition of craft shops of goldsmiths, engravers and etchers. Just one for all, remember Benvenuto Cellini salt cellar and the valuable gold, ebony and enamel created and worked for King Francis I of France that the museums of the world are competing.

The jewelry is  rimasti tra i  pochi oggetti magico-rituali della nostra civiltà contemporanea.
Amulet prodigious of all time, the symbol of bright sunlight and starlight, facilitates this exciting research. Fascinating myths and legends about the therapeutic properties of precious stones intertwine and overlap. Art, paintings, literature have extolled and celebrated gems and precious stones. Titian portrays his Madonna di Urbino, by the calm sensuality that has a pair of pearl ear; Vermer and its famous "Girl with a Pearl Earring" from which emerges an iridescent pearl earring, Klimt and his precious byzantine "secessionists" in gold and enamel in his famous Judith Moreau and its sumptuous jeweled and Salome and Herodias. Much of the symbolism and decadence celebrated gold, enamel, jewelry, tiaras and mannerisms, but also objets d'arts as mother of pearl boxes, snuff boxes, agate, amethyst etc. gifts. The Art Deco refers us to his charming and ethereal women with long necklaces of pearls ( Portrait of Wally Toscanini Alberto Martini).

tales, myths and legends , novels of adventure stories based unleash sull'inseguimento of jewelry stolen. An example is the box tips of the queen of diamonds to which the Musketeers to chase them back to their rightful owner after many vicissitudes, in "The Three Musketeers" of Dumas. Stevenson tales of pirates and treasure chests, to the accounts of Salgari.
There are many literary references and quotations dedicated to stones and jewels. "The Jewels prying " Diderot, "Les Bijoux" (Baudelaire), of which it is worth to mention at least the incipit
The much loved and she was naked, my heart expert

had not taken the jewelry sound
whose pomp that made her victorious attitude
in that happy days are the slaves of the Moors.

" Enamels and Cameos" is a collection of poems by Théophile Gautier loved by Oscar Wilde, Flaubert Salambo , a princess daughter of the Carthaginian Tanit, the goddess of the moon, which is hieratic moves between veils and precious jewelry.
Today from pagan goddesses, from Madonna, from portraits and large portraits of queens, princesses and noblewomen of the past bejeweled and clad with precious stones, you go to Hollywood divas, sfarzose ma talora anche un po' pacchiane (è il caso delle parure di smeraldi e diamanti di Elizabeth Taylor, comunque preziosissime).

While Audrey Hepburn, after his famous "Breakfast at Tiffany " Blake Edwards is and will always be the unique spokesperson of the famous jeweler New York, which continues to expose his diademino.
Marilyn Monroe, cited Cartier when he sang that diamonds are the best friends of girls in "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes" by H. Hawks, wrapped in her hot pink dress and adorned with diamonds.

The splendor and the amazing play of light and purity of old men have suggested the supernatural power of the gemstones make them unsurpassed talismans with magical virtue. The iridescent white pearl of the mysterious splendor of the blue sapphire , the "green fire" of emeralds or the "red fire" in all its shades of ruby \u200b\u200b , the beautiful blue of 'Aquamarine  e gli altri luminescenti colori delle pietre preziose sono stati interpretati come sublimi rappresentazioni dell'Acqua, del Fuoco, della Terra, e dell'Aria, i 4 elementi della natura. Molti sono i tagli delle pietre preziose: il taglio cabochon, quello a facce piene , a navette, il taglio quadrato a gradini ottagonali (tipico dello smeraldo), a goccia, a nido d'ape, a baguette e così via.
Meno pregiate sono le pietre dure e i cristalli, in grado però di figurare se accostate sapientemente agli ori, smalti,  o attorniati da diamanti or pearls: the blue stone lapis lazuli or , the jade with all its shades of green (from clear and translucent suits statuettes, to the more load), the agates, the cornelian , the jasper, turquoise the the chalcedony, quartz the in all its variations and varieties (from pink to the green to violet known as amethyst), the garnets, tourmalines , the extracted from deep sea coral, amber , a glossy resin from yellow to red ocher, which then emitted by conifers over time it is fossilized. And speaking of coral ancient amulet is of value apotropaic for infants, is still widespread. According to pagan tradition twigs sharp spear launched the evil eye of envy, while for Christians its red color reminded the blood of Christ, it was used in the Middle Ages to the shrines of the Cross. The coral thus assumed the value of a symbol of the dual nature of Christ, human and divine.

L'essere umano riesce ad assorbire e trasformare le energie attraverso Chakras (wheels, vortices), energy centers, which are the gateways to the current energy and vital part of our mental body.
True or not, it is still intriguing to know what zodiac sign is the stone that is more favorable.

Largest Shark In Captured

Toulouse, the real Cockaigne

The stock exchange, as we know it today, had its earliest origins in Amsterdam at the end of the historical cycle of this post: in the middle of the sixteenth century. A story of the stock market crash is related a story that would seem out of the pen of a novelist, a story I had always believed tied to a secret. Instead, it was not secret but was rather a story of ingenuity, perseverance, resourcefulness of Toulouse who had sensed the great potential of a product of their land and had studied the way different from the others to extract from what turned out the best color of the blue pigment of existing allora sui mercati .
Since the beginning of '400, then and lasted at least until the end of '600. Its inhabitants, but particularly a small group of families, earned co-digit fabulous mmerciando the cocagnes , a generic product of their land. The uniqueness of the product, lack of competition among the few families who held that kind of patent, together with the ability to maintain secrecy about their business, allowed the families to achieve stunning gains, with a minimum expenditure of energy. But what is this cocagnes , whose term Italianate became bonanza? E 'a derivative from from a typical crop of that rich land. They were the leaves of pastel that, soaked in water, to be reduced to a pulp, were then pressed his hands and made into balls the size of a fist. Without then dried for about 15 days, they were the famous coques or cocagnes (see photo top), large balls of about one kg, which were exported throughout Europe, were the prized blue pigment for dry cleaners and in some cases, for painters. the base of the luck of the land of Cockaigne there was above all a passion for the blue part of the world's largest, and nobles; not surprisingly, during the Middle Ages, designated blue-blood social class of nobles.

In that golden period were 60,000 hectares of cultivated land in pastel (see Isatis tinctoria, and ford in Italian), a plant similar to rape, against about 11,000 hectares ford (name used in Italy and Germany for the same Isatis dyeing) in the German city of Erfurt (even lived here a long period of abundance, from 1200 to 1600, thanks to rich income from trade of ford dye from the plant to ready).

Il blu, infatti, non si trova puro in natura ed is the only color that man since ancient times has struggled to get . Of this fact, they certainly knew something even Giotto, who, to fresco the vault of the azzuzzi Scrovegni Chapel, had as the only option that was available on the market in its century: ' Azurite, a mineral rather common, but still quite expensive or the most expensive Ultramarine Blue. This was so named because it came from the countries of the Near East, beyond the sea, such as Syria and especially Afghanistan. During the golden age of Italian painting " almost all the workshops were producing and alchemists of colors and oxides based on their own and grinding the mixture of minerals and precious stones "(Hesperia: see start post). experimentation, but were unable to find a viable alternative to cocagnes French, which allowed those enrichments beyond measure.

Here a virtual tour of the Scrovegni Chapel, published by Il Sole 24 Ore

Dedication
This post is dedicated to a boy Milan that found in the Toulouse great love of his life, trasferendovisi. And because there hath been spoken of inventiveness and resourcefulness of Toulouse, I like to remember the history of this guy, yet completely unknown, it has imported a product in Toulouse Sicily, the land of his grandparents, devising, though, and trying again and again a new and original way to produce it. It becomes for him a new bonanza, as was the idea was developed by the ancient pastel on Toulouse.

Three Characteristic Signs Of Anorexia

L 'imposture of Pop Art

In art, as in all other areas, would be time to make a serious commitment to free ourselves from misunderstandings and deceptions, even from real boulders , for too many years, cutting the road who has real talent, beauty depletion of our civilization and make people lose the compass to show pictures only able to degrade humanity and to confuse the perception of the difference between harmony and dissonance, beauty and deformity. Given the junk that is rampant for decades, must think a lot of work, but it is worth wasting any more precious time debating about nothing or, worse, to rummage in the trash? For clarity and close the account with a past of too much ugliness and evil deeds think that would be enough only a few examples of easy to read, reasonably priced and adequately conveyed. One would be devoted to the unmasking of pop art and Andy Warhol's character, that the pop was and remains the most representative. In all likelihood
the definition of Pop Art was coined in England in the late fifties of last century, by Lawrence Alloway, an art critic, author of many reviews that later in New York are heavily involved in launching young "artists" pop. Even though the easy juxtaposition of the adjective folk art (pop it alludes to some and how popular the word ) should give us some useful reflection. It could be rough and the expression of subjects with no talent belonging to lower classes, or art beloved by the people. But in this case, you would understand why the very people for a long time was the class Social more hostile and distrustful of the massive exposure in space and often prestigious designer trash cans, neon tubes Numerous winding and serial images of any meaning. In reality it is the supposed art that a small number of people belonging to a powerful sect that can affect thinking and therefore human behavior in all fields has committed to the people. A all the people. In fact, even more of errors attributable to the informal, abstract and conceptual, the rubbish bins, neon tubes and serial images, far from expressing, like expecting crowds of enthusiastic reviews, a "social critique consumption " for the sole purpose of confusing and depressing the collective aesthetic perception and are part of the same technique used in all other areas by those who tend to gain power by demolishing the foundations of our society, and transforming the masses of people in brutes easily manipulated. A journey back that, precisely, it becomes possible only when the order is less that follows from the existence of the categories of good and evil, beauty and ugliness, the healthy and the pathological that for centuries and centuries, our civilization had always referred to. And at the same time, constitute the process by which the cunning and arrogant, well recorded, measuring their ability by all means to capture the attention of the next or to provoke any reaction, no matter of confusion or refusal to obtain, thanks to the high visibility consequent large royalty income in exchange for little or nothing: "works" only sold to wealthy bourgeois, dazed from the catalogs that enhance the garbage with incomprehensible words and all the others, who take home the junk reproduced in a medium-or low-priced, from which, thanks to the ease of reproduction in large quantities which allows modern technology, we can also derive stratospheric figures.
fool, as I said, it would dedicate more precious time to the storage e all’analisi della miriade di nomi e di “opere” di tanti pretesi artisti del pop. Ed è proprio alla necessità di perpetuare questo genere di potere totale e perverso che va ricondotta una circostanza che dovrebbe invece far riflettere: all’immediata and almost universal recognition of the likeness of Andy Warhol and many of the "works" attributed to him, is, as has been said above, a very approximate knowledge if not absolutely vague of what was in reality his life, just as if someone had done to make silencing many eyewitnesses of the many outrages attributable to more false and misleading myths. For example, who among the many lovers of quirky character, he took the trouble to tell us what happened under his sole direction in the legendary Factory founded by him? Social climber, a skilled like few others, Andy was able to emerge from obscurity at a young age becoming the lover of Truman Capote's most famous gay American writer of the early fifties, a fairly predictable formula for achieving notoriety through the back door that he, advertising training, once he had become famous, he decided to sell to the hordes of young people who jostle for the benefits they thought they can get into its orbit. In fact, he promised to all "fifteen minutes of fame" in exchange for a pledge that it would require and which almost always consisted in the exploitation of their bodies or their talent. But as the greed and lack of scruples, after all, were not the worst elements of his nature assolutamente crudele e negativa, spesso il prezzo per non uscire dal cerchio di luce che egli era in grado di accordare saliva a dismisura e molti dei giovani irretiti dalla sua algida personalità e ancor più dalle droghe che nella Factory non mancavano mai, finivano per perdere la salute fisica assieme a quella mentale e, non di rado, anche la loro stessa vita. Mentre lui, cinico e perfettamente lucido (in quanto non personalmente dedito alla droga) era sempre lì, con in mano l’immancabile cinepresa, per filmarne l’abbrutimento derivante dalla decadenza fisica, le indicibili umiliazioni e perfino il momento estremo del trapasso che a volte avveniva a seguito di sfinimento fisico per assunzione di d roghe e altro kind of poison or by suicide, to which he himself had led the unfortunate turn. Why death and the pain of others fascinated him, serene, at least for a while ', his envy congenital as compensation for the cemetery that aspect that nature had given him and that was unpleasant to him.
Begin to shed light on many hidden reality is a prerequisite to blow up the blinders that still prevents more than a glimpse of the abyss to which are still geared almost all expressions of our lives. Finally freed from the constraints field "anti-everything" and bias towards the rare items that over time they tried, always in vain, to indicate places of thought which had been prefigured in all stages of this long process of dismantling of the bases of individual growth and collective coexistence on seeking harmony, you can finally understand what actually was easy to avoid the endless and varied death traps scattered in every corner and all along the roads used by at least two or three of the last generations.
Remaining in the field of art and way of example, just pay attention to the literal meaning of the program points of the manifesto "dada". Born in Zurich in the first decade of the twentieth century, Dada is the current of thought which, in its own right, can be traced back to the pop art and Andy Warhol phenomenon. Nothing can be clearer the watchwords in this proclamation to be implemented, as is evident, despite the claim (indeed already insane) to reject the tradition in all fields, from the artistic , would not lead to freedom of expression but psychiatric hospital. What then, and certainly not by chance has been abolished. The poster reads:
1) To launch a manifesto will need A, B, C, hurling invectives against 1,2,3; excited and sharpen your wings to conquer and spread large and small a, b, c;
2) sign, shouting, swearing, give emphasis to the prose of obviousness absolute, irrefutable, prove its ne plus ultra, arguing that novelty resembles life as much as the last appearance of a cocotte demonstrates the essence of God;
3) With the dada manifesto did not pursue anything, who wrote the manifesto is in principle against the posters. E 'against all the principles. The aim is that you can make contradictory actions simultaneously in a single breath refrigerant;
4) It is in favor of the conflict continues;
5) Dada means nothing;
6) Do not you think you have to give explanations.
useful to pay attention on the first two points. They clearly outline the model of normal behavior which is still trying to silence those who offer a key to understanding different than the current offer or a thought last regeneration.

Hernst HAAS, WHEN color photography becomes poetry

Hernst Haas, born in Vienna in 1921, reporters among the most popular of the prestigious Magnum agency since the end of the Great War to the sixties of the twentieth century, had already revealed in the black and white photography its unique flavor composition of the image, always inspired by a refined sense of order and harmony, but it was one of the first to use color film since its appearance, exploring this new dimension of photography with an aesthetic sensibility and expressive ability that no one else has been able to match or, at least, has managed to achieve with its continuous images as original and fascinating work in almost all types of photography, from news services to industrial and advertising, from reportage to the custom nature and wildlife, portraits and documentation environment, from sports to photography to film scene (it was inter alia, the photographer's favorite John Huston, who wanted him at her side during the process of The Misfits and de La Bib bia, but also documented the filming of other famous films as West Side Story , Moby Dick, P iccolo great man, Hello Dolly), practicing the techniques più svariate per restituire al meglio le caratteristiche del genere e inventando, tra l’altro, un metodo tutto suo per creare il “mosso” nella fotografia sportiva, ottenendo effetti sorprendenti e, come sempre, di grande suggestione estetica. Ma non nel senso che appaia ridondante; al contrario, spesso è giocato su or soft colors catch the light faded to an environment or a particular time to restore an atmosphere, an atmosphere, a mood. In any case, with the result that Haas gets his shots is always an image of great beauty and poetry, both when it wants us to experience the atmosphere of the charm of the Orient in a crowded camp, the Pushkar camel, or she, full of nostalgia for the old Wild West, in a herd of horses galloping in a plain of Texas, or wants to restore a sense of subtle tension that pervades the rest of a group of impala antelopes in the bush of Kenya, or the magic misty twilight yearning caught in Paris from of Notre Dame. Sometimes just the simplest image of the world, that of the sea hurls its waves toward the beach, to create, with different shades of blue and green blue water and approached the white foam of the clouds gathered together in heaven, the rhythmic vibration that releases the poetry and music.

Humans, then, are caught with psychological acumen sometimes with a touch of humor, but always with respect and sympathy. See the old Hindu lens offers a frowning face but not without pride and pride of themselves. O the wonderful portrait of a young Joan Collins, the next movie star, where the beauty of the subject is enhanced by the painstakingly red robe e sensuale su cui poggia la morbidezza delle braccia e del piede scoperto.
